Kantishna Drive/Fly
Day-Trip Excursions

Kantishna Air Taxi has joined with two lodges in Kantishna, the Kantishna Roadhouse and Denali Backcountry Lodge, to offer a unique excursion to explore the very best of Denali National Park. Traveling by ground and air transportation, our guests are able to enjoy the best of both worlds!
6:30AM— Depart from the park entrance by bus. You will travel up close into the heart of Denali along the 94-mile park road. These buses are the most comfortable buses in the park. Experienced driver/guides will help you discover Alaska's premier wildlife habitat, from the taiga forest to the tundra. The road's last 30 miles may possibly allow an unobstructed view of seeing Denali. Wildlife viewing frequently include grizzly bear, caribou, dall sheep and moose. You even may be fortunate to spot a wolf.
NOON— Arrive at the
Kantishna Roadhouse (KWT) or the
Denali Backcountry Lodge (DBA) for a hearty, home-cooked lunch. You can try your hand at gold panning or relax on the riverbank of Moose Creek, or you can participate in other guided activities.
3:00 PM— Return to the park entrance hotels via a scenic flight (approx. 55 minutes). The flight will take you to the north face of Denali, then traverse the expansive Muldrow Glacier, following the spine of the magnificent Alaska Range to Denali Park's train and bus depot. Several shuttles are available to take you back to your accommodations. Inquire at your lodging beforehand.
