The Grand Ascent
You will be taken on a journey as we follow
the gently rising terrain, past numerous kettle ponds, upward to the base
of Denali (Mt. McKinley), which stands at 20,320 ft.(6194 m.). We will
spend 60 minutes viewing the enormous glaciers, towering granite walls
and snow-covered peaks that enshrine North America's greatest mountain.
The view, no doubt, offers a perspective of Alaska that will make this
one-hour adventure a highlight of your vacation. The duration of the flight
is ideal for in-depth sightseeing and photography. If weather conditions
allow, we will circumnavigate the entire Denali massif.
On our return, we will descend over the
historic mining district of the Kantishna Hills, which attracted prospectors
and settlers here at the turn of the century. Our round-trip adventure
is completed at the Kantishna International Airstrip.

Flightseeing from Denali Park Entrance— Healy
If you are not staying in Kantishna, you can still experience Denali from the air. We use the Healy airstrip which is located approximately 8? miles north of the park entrance.

This trip offers an alternate travel option
to the Denali Park Train Depot on your departure day. Instead of an early
morning, five-hour bus ride, you can enjoy your extra time at
the lodge, and then depart mid-morning. Fly through the awe-inspiring
Alaska Range. The optional scenic flight will take us to the North Face
of Denali and over a number of the north side glaciers. We will arrive
at the depot with plenty of time to make your travel connections at the
park entrance. Direct flight: 35 minutes. Scenic flight: 55 minutes.
